Interview Plans

So, these are the questions we plan on asking our interviewee:
What made you want to clean the environment?
What would you suggest we do to clean the beaches efficiently?
What are some of the consequences of having dirty beaches?
What are ways to raise awareness?
What books or articles would you suggest reading to expand our knowledge of environmental cleaning?
What things should be done to keep the beaches clean on a permanent basis?
What other environmental problems are out there, and what could young, inexperienced individuals such as ourselves do to help?

We plan to interview David White, a member of Racine's Keep Our Beaches Open group, which focuses on keeping beaches clean and open.  We plan to learn a lot about what it is like to be fully integrated into an environmental program like that.  Also, we are hoping to see environmental cleaning from a different point of view.  We have high expectations for this interview and hope to learn a lot.

Progress and Goals

So far we have found a few large pamphlets and info from government sites, and that is the baseline of our research.  By March 3, we plan to have more research done about how to keep beaches clean, as well as start picking out a date that we will clean a beach, and which beach we are planning to clean.

Our Mission

Motivation: We have decided to do something about the children in poverty in Kenosha, as child poverty in Kenosha is higher than the national average.  This is important to me because wish every child could grow up with enough money and healthy enough to make something of themselves.  The talents I bring to the project include my hardworking nature and a willingness to get things done.
Topic: This is involved with the Catholic social teaching of option for the poor.  I would like to learn more about what this social teaching entails and how we can work through it.
Issue Analysis: We are going to increase awareness about the child poverty in Kenosha, and find a way to do something about it.  We might be able to increase awareness or have a fundraiser about the situation.
Objective: Our final project will help these children in poverty by raising money or awareness for them.
